Yep, it’s all here. Apple has released a new iPod Shuffle, and this time it’s even smaller. Yes, that’s right even smaller and with 4GB of storage! How do they do it? Remove the controls! Yes, it seems crazy, but you know those new apple headphones, the ones with the controls on the cord? Those are the controls. Yep, you’ll find more on the website, but if you want to know my opinion, I think it can be good in a few ways, and bad in a few ways. But overall, I think that it’s a great move. And, if it turns out that the product is a flop, its not like apple can’t take the blow. They already have millions of piles of money! However, I’m still a big fan of the iPod nano. Just sayin’
P.S. Didn’t apple just go all colorful with the shuffles? Why back to black and white?
Wow, look at how the year got away from me. Well, just thought that I would tell any of my loyal followers (if I even have any :/ ) that I apologize for not updating in 4 months. School has really taken away most of my free time (That only 25% of which goes into the computer). So, I’m hoping to make it up to you this summer, where I will plan to update regularly as I refurbish my writing skills in school. Just a quick question though:
Well, last night Nintendo had a small press release where they announced a slap in the face to Apple, or as they like to call it, the DSi. Yes, folks, Nintendo wasn’t going to take that new marketing strategy (Steve Jobs’ Note To Self: Advertise iPod Touch as gaming device) by Apple sitting down. So, they released the DSi. With a new interface supporting an on-line download store (Like the Wii Shop Channel) and a photo channel to, of course, hold all those photos and videos taken by your new DSi’s TWO cameras.
Yes, folks the DSi packs TWO cameras, one on the front and one where the microphone is in the center of the device. It also sports an SD card slot, bigger screens, internal memory and a slimmer design.
But, how did they get it slimmer, you say? By taking out that good ol’ GBA slot.

Yep, folks, with the new DSi, GBA games will not be compatible via Catriage form (So that means no more GH: On Tour). However, it has been speculated that GBA games will be downloadable via the DSi Store.
The new DSi is hitting Japan on November first for about $180 US Dollars. However, it is not expected to hit the US until next holiday season. Bummer.
So, overall the new DSi is good and bad in some ways. What do you think? Tell us in the comments. The new DSi: Good or bad?
Oh, and one more thing, we all know that nintendo did some major innovating when taking the i from iPod Touch and putting it next to the DS name, it put it in the back instead of the front! Way to go! Major Innovation!
My dad is constantly listening to the radio when he is on long car rides and %99.9 of the time he likes the song that playing and wants it on his iPod. So, he always listens with his full attention after the song to catch the song title and artist so he can write them down on a notepad for later reference. The only problem with this is sometimes he cant write it down at the moment and winds up forgetting late or he doesn’t hear the song title/artist at the end of the song. This is one of the major things that annoys him.
Today, while he was listening to the radio he heard the two radio casters talk about how it annoys them to and continued to talk about how there is an Application for the iPhone that can give you the Song title/artist/album and even the album artwork just by listening to the song for 10 seconds. This application is called Shazam and from what I read, it is very accurate.
What you do is if you hear a song you like, wether its while a movie, TV Show or the radio is playing, you can start Shazam and have it listen to the song for 10 seconds. It then finds the song in its database and gives you all the info you need to know about the song. It even gives you a link the the iTunes WiFi store to buy and download the song and the link to the Music Video on Youtube. The App is free in the iTunes store and from the reviews on the page and over the web, it works very very well.
The only downside is that you can’t have the App on your iPod Touch, because of the lack of the Microphone. Otherwise, if you own an iPhone then go for it. It should be very useful to a lot of people.
For years, the computer hardware battle has raged against PC and Mac and now, History is repeating itself with the iPhone and Blackberry. Which one is more functional? Which one will get the job done better? Well, if you are looking to switch from a Blackberry to an iPhone (Which I think all business users should use due to its high functionality) you can find all you need to know about the subject here. I was reading TUAW this morning and they had this interesting post up that I thought that I would share with you.
Well, as it turns out, some .Mac users got more than they barganed for when Apple accidentaly shipped very few .Mac users a copy of Mobile Me early. Now, thats Apple’s mistake. Now, onto the mistake of the user. Apparently someone had told Apple about the incident and is having all the copys recalled back to the headquarters. Just one question: who in their right mind would tell Apple?
Well, since most people here reading this post right now know what Guitar Hero is, then you most likely know that the most recent version, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, was released recently. Well, apparently, the rumors that Activision would accept the well-made Rock Band guitar controller from Harmonix were false. As you can see above, the controller is rejected when plugged into an Xbox 360. But, wait! There may still be hope. According to some sources, this photo may be fake. If you look at the left and right sides of the pink box, you can clearly see something that resembles a photoshop job. Check back soon for an update.
UPDATE: Upon reasearching more, and more, I have found that this is an actual, in-game shot. The reason for the pink box alteration is due to the fact that people could not see that it was Guitar Hero Aerosmith. However, people still claim that their Rock Band controllers work with GHA, while others claim that they don’t. The only conclusion that i can come up with is that maybe the RB Guitars that shipped with the earlier RB bundles are not compatible and that the later ones are. This could be due to the fact that both companies had not planned to have compatibility in the past, but then decided to make the compatibility there in adding some sort of internal hardware part to the RB guitar.
Well, IPGM now officially has 100 posts in its blogosphere. This is the 100th post, which, I guess is kind of useless except how it tells you that this is the 100th post. Well, anyway, heres hoping we make it to a 200th post!
Well, I was fishing around in some links with Gmail, and I found something pretty interesting. As you may know, when iPhone or iPod Touch users visit Gmail in the Safari mobile web browser, they are greeted with an iPhoen friendly version of the mail service. Well, as it turns out what happens is that Google detects that you are usin an iPhone or iPod Touch and re-directs you to this page. Now, what that link is is the web adress of the iPhone/iPod Touch version of Gmail. To see it better, re-size your browser to about the size of an iPhone screen.
P.S. If you don’t see how it is the iPhone/ iPod Touch version of Gmail, try re-sizing your browsers window until it comes to about the size of an iPhone screen. If you get it right, it should look like you are vieing the page from an iPhone.
We all know that Bill Gates is days away from retiring and as it turns out people have been working to dig up tidbits from his past. One thing that was recovered was a 2003 email to Todd Bishop of the Seattle Post-Intelligence. In it Gates states how much trouble he had with Windows XP and downloading a few programs. Yes, Bill Gates, thank you for pointing out what we all knew and you should have known by 2003. Did he really not know how slow Microsoft’s website was or how hard it was to download a program with Windows? Was he really that out of it at the time? While reading this letter I kept hoping that he would finally say “I’m going Mac!” but sadly the one sentence that would have changed it all did not emerge. Go here to read the full email.
